On our way to play 2 shows with The Accused in Eastern Washington. One at Rays Golden Lion in Richland and one at The Hop in Spokane, we stopped for the obligatory piss break just outside of Ellensburg.

We ended up getting some Johnsonville beer brats and some po-ta-toes salad with Tims Jalapeno chips!! We BBQ'd at mike's sisters house after the show in Spokane.

The Accused were excellent!! Tommy is as SICK as ever! Love the new line-up!! The singer is not trying to be Blaine and is powerful as hell and the drummer can play "pounding nails" which tells you that he is a bad ass. Here is a photo of Tommy wearing our new shirt design.

On the way back home, Johnny and Doug take a rest in Vantage on Fathers day 2011. Thanks a ton to all the people who provided the magnificent circle pits at Rays Golden Lion and Spokane Hop!! See you Next Time. -TI

The Insurgence er et punk/hardcore band fra Seattle, Washington som fans av Dropkick Murphys, Bad Brains og DOA kommer til å digge. Musikken deres er like brutal som den er melodiøs, når du da legger til små gitarsolopartier her og der så har du en sikker vinner. Bandet er temmelig ungt, da de ble dannet i 2004. I den korte levetiden de har hatt har de spilt som oppvarming for Rancid, Circle Jerks, Zeke, Bad Brains, DOA, Poison Idea, Misfits, Dwarves, Casualties +++. Med andre ord, de er sykt kule. I 2009 ga de ut en EP ved navn Never Surrender, hvor vi finner dagens låt K Street Killers, de har også gitt ut debutalbumet sitt nå i 2010.

ENGLISH:(The Insurgence is a punk / hardcore band from Seattle, Washington as fans of the Dropkick Murphys, Bad Brains, and DOA is going to dig. Their music is as brutal as it is melodious, when you then add small guitar solos here and there and you have a sure winner. The band is fairly young, when they were formed in 2004. In its short existence they've had they have played as support for Rancid, Circle Jerk, Zeke, Bad Brains, DOA, Poison Idea, Misfits, dwarves, Casualties + + +. In other words, they are insanely cool. In 2009 they released an EP called Never Surrender, where we find today's track K Street Killers, they have also released their debut album in 2010.)

The Pacific Northwest's oh-so-controversially-titled Insurgence plays a style of fast, aggressive punk rock that’s equal parts hardcore, street punk and occasionally speed metal.

Their self-titled release on Digital Warfare Records captures those sounds with ease from what appears to be a fairly musically proficient act. Thematically, the Seattle-based quintet sticks to almost exclusively war-themed songs or metaphors, evident throughout in titles like “Destroyed Republic,” “Honor Killing,” “Don’t Give Up the Fight,” “Wings of Death,” “Faces Wrapped in Black,” “Left to Die,” “This Bullet Has No Name,” etc.

The Insurgence makes use of multiple vocalists depending on the song styles, with melody on the punkier tunes and raw-throated screams on the hardcore tracks. The hardcore vocalist sounds almost identical to the lead singer of Straight Faced, especially on tracks like “Left to Die” where he cuts loose on the high-pitched yells.

The band busts some mean chops on songs like the thrashy headbanger “Murder Pays” and catchy street-punk-meets-metal “Images of the Apocalypse.” Generally, the weaker tracks are the straight-up punk songs like “This Bullet Has No Name” and “Hold Your Ground” while the shorter, crossover hardcore songs like “Honor Killing” command attention easier and make for a bit more interesting of a composition.

Instead of breaking a ton of new ground on their self-titled album, the Insurgence plays a competent blend of several aggressive genres, occasionally blending them with success and always packing the energy and passion needed to make this record enjoyable.
